Safety is becoming increasingly important and hydrogen embrittlement is still the biggest threat when it comes to reliable welded joints. Authorities have set the offshore limit at a maximum of 5 ml. hydrogen per 100 gr. weld metal, which is only achievable with vacuum-packed electrodes.
